Walker Stalker London 2018

La Walker Stalker..

[ENGLISH BELOW]

On a ensuite pris quelques photos.

J'ai eu l'occasion d'apercevoir Pollyanna McIntosh, Michael Cudlitz, Cooper Andrews, Khary Payton, Greg Nicotero, Henry Ian Cusick, Eliza Taylor, Sachin Sahel, Ron Perlman, Tommy Flanagan, Ryan Hurst, Austin Nichols.

Walker Stalker ..

An event that makes dream a lot of fans.. We say "I have to do it at least once in my life". Small info point about the event: These are 9 cities: Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Chicago, San Jose, London, Germany, New Jersey, Portland. Thousands of fans at the rendezvous each year, hundreds of guests present to meet the fans. It's an unique event that every fan deserves to live!

As you know, I was lucky to be able to do this, so I went to the Walker Stalker London on March 10-11, 2018 and spent the best time of my life.

In the form of a diary (which may be a bit long so do not hesitate to read only what interests you), I will tell you my weekend by referring to the guests and the organization of the convention. I think it will certainly interest more than one, because I know that some people want to go there next year 😊

Thursday 03/08 :

Having a train the next day at 7:37am, I leave my country to go to my grandparents's house who live near Paris. Nothing really interesting happened during this day, I went to Paris to go to the exchange office, finalizing the final preparations. The next day was the departure! First solo trip!

Friday 03/09 :

It's the big departure! I'm leaving home at 5.30 am, I arrive very early at the station but I anticipated any delay in the subway. The train leaves the Gare du Nord at 7:37 am, a quick trip, arriving in London at 9am (French time: 10am). I will stay at the Star Hotel - B&B (I forgot to take a picture so see above a picture taken via internet)

I arrived around 10:45am - 11:00am, for a room ready at 1:30 pm. This is a very nice little hotel, with a very friendly staff, I was immediately offered to keep my luggage to avoid that I transport them while waiting for the availability of my room, I took what I needed and I accepted willingly. Then, I took the opportunity to search for the Olympia to recover my pass and my extras. I had spotted a few places before coming to London. After a few minutes of walking, I saw someone wearing a Negan sweatshirt so I thought it was the right direction 😃

Once I arrived, there were already some people waiting, I had to wait at least 1:30 before it opens. When the time came, they would lead us to different stands according to your pass, then to the Celebs Photo Ops table to pick up your photo tickets. Being in the first line, I did not have a lot of waiting, once out I waited someone who had to exchange her Jeffrey photo ticket with mine because it suited us at the schedule. In the meantime, I went to buy some food in the neighborhood. Food was not the best, it was fine but no more, it suited for a few days. Once back at the hotel I picked up my suitcase and went up to the room, I even  got upgraded as there was no single room left so it was not any worse. The weekend started pretty well!

I put some pictures above, it was perfect for a solo weekend.

Then I wandered around for the rest of the day, and I came home early to eat and rest before the two long days that awaited me.

Saturday 03/10 :

I woke up at 6:30am-7am, breakfast was very varied and good so I was not homesick with croissants and cereals. Then it was the departure time for the convention: my hotel was 15 minutes walk from the Olympia, it was fast and the location was not bad, it is a shopping alley. With my VIP pass, the opening time was at 9:30am, there was a lot of people, they were a little late, I do not remember exactly but I probably got inside at 10am. Organizational level, from my experience it was okay in spite of that but the people who had for example the General Admission pass were supposed to come in at 10:30am but did not enter until around 12pm for the most part.. (Apparently it was much better the next day so it is a good thing) but the staff promised somes changes for next year, so I hope that it will be much better for you.

As soon as it opened, I went straight to Sarah Wayne Callies (what a big surprise 😂). A little bit of waiting but she arrived quickly, I was 3rd in line. Once it was my turn, she recognized me immediately, she told me that it was nice to see me and asked for a hug. She signed an autograph and then took a picture. 😊 I could also see her during a mini-panel of 15 minutes. In general I did not attend any panel by lack of time :(

Then, I waited with a friend to see Laurie Holden, she was late, we had to wait for at least 20 minutes, during this time I was able to see the reunion between David Morrissey/Michael Rooker, Michael/Sarah Wayne Callies and David/Sarah. When Laurie arrived, she recognized my friend who is a big fan and she gave us a hug, we spent a lot of time talking to her, at least 15 minutes, I was doing the translation, it was a really great time. I came back on 3 occasions just to chat and at her request to be able to make a live video with my sister who is a big fan of Laurie.

It was the turn of Emily Kinney who is very sweet and adorable, really nice. We did a picture together, I quickly told her about her albums that I love.

Scott Wilson is so great! When I arrived to him, he asked for a hug, we then took a picture together, it was a short time but super nice!

I had a very good meeting and it is none other than with Sonequa Martin-Green who plays Sasha but also the captain Michael Burnham in Star Trek Discovery, she told me that she adored France and that she had recently discovered to be 13% French (yes, it is very precise 😂). She also complimented me, which was lovely. We then took some pictures.

Compared to what the fans said about Christian Serratos last year, I was pleasantly surprised, when I went to see her, there was no one, she asked me what my name was, where I was from, then we took a dozen selfies. She is super sweet!

If you want to meet a great person, I advise you to go see Alanna Masterson, I tried to make a live video with my sister who loves her but there was a bad connection so it unfortunately did not work. She took a dozen selfies, it was super nice but very short.

When I got to Tom Payne, he said, "Where's my hug?", While I'm putting my stuff down, I hear him say, "My huuuuug!" with a super cute voice while holding out his arms to me (yes I'm coming aha), he was super friendly, very fun and very welcoming. He took several pictures too.

I was able to take a photo with Jeffrey Dean Morgan who was adorable, no need to ask him for a cuddly pose, he did it to me immediately. What is a pity is the time spent with him, it was two seconds top time, but really, just the time to take a picture and say thank you. I would have loved to have more time to talk to him but it was unfortunately not possible. Then it was Danai Gurira's turn, she is a very classy and beautiful woman, she thanked me for coming, it was also very short.

The day ended, I returned to the hotel to rest while waiting for the Zombie Bash scheduled at the Olympia from 9pm the same evening. It was a wonderful party that was unfortunately only reserved for the VIP pass holders this year and only for people over 18s. After an hour Ross Marquand and Michael Traynor came to join us and came on stage, as soon as they arrived, the evening was unforgettable, they were hilarious and set the mood all along. See some pictures above.

I managed to get a picture with Ross and Michael (missed for the latter, with low light I framed the photo 😂) but the conclusion of this evening ended at 00:30am is ENJOYABLE and UNFORGETTABLE.

Sunday 03/11 :

The next day, I wanted to go see Chandler Riggs but he arrived very late so I lost 1 hour in the queue, but wasted time was a good thing in the end because a member of the staff gave me a GOLD access, which allowed me to see him directly a few hours later without waiting. He was very kind, and very smiling. It's nice to finally meet the "little Carl" we saw growing up.

I went back to Laurie Holden with my friend one last time, we talked for a while again, she even read my letter in front of me, it's one of the few rare things I like to see at a guest's table knowing that other fans wait behind. It's really touching to see that writing something for a few minutes was worth it.

I was able to see Sarah again, I gave her some small gifts, she was very happy with it, she posted a picture on instagram of everything that fans gave her during the week-end and we can see one of mine. Later I saw her at the photo shoot, as soon as she saw me, she gave me a hug for the photo, a great time again and it was the last time I got to see her during the weekend, I did not have time to go see her before leaving...

I went to see David Morrissey, the Governor in person, unlike his character he is super nice!

Austin Amelio is someone great too, I had a good time! The guest next to his table was Steven Ogg, I did not go to see him, but he seemed like the sweetest with his fans.

I went to see Michael Rooker at his table, I had the regret not to have taken a picture with him thinking he was doing selfies but it was not the case and I had not seen the info, suddenly I really wanted to go to see him to pay only an autograph that lasted 1 second, especially that he was about to leave for a panel and he really signed to the chain, but it was the only time I could see him, and I did not want to regret not meeting him, he played one of my favorite characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy so I did not want to miss this unique opportunity to say something, even if it would be just a "hello" and a "thank you". Failing not to have had a photo, I discreetly took a video (which is normally prohibited) as a souvenir of this quick exchange. He was great 💗

I saw Norman Reedus a little after lunch, he passed near the exit, he gave me a high-five when leaving, it was cool! I had a photo op with him, "Hi sweetheart" he told me, always nice to see him, it was very short unfortunately like every time ..

Just after that, I had to take a photo op with Melissa McBride, and what a wonderful and sweet woman, she is absolutely amazing, very friendly and close to the fans, I had a great time meeting her.

I quickly saw IronE Singleton walking towards his booth, he gave me a high-five to say hello, I met him in 2013, it was nice to see him again!

There is one person out of The Walking Dead universe that I met, it's Richard Harmon (Murphy in the 100), he was alone when I went to see him, so nobody was there to ask you to hurry up. He was super nice, I wanted to meet him for a while because he plays one of my favorite characters in the series, and it's without regret. I was able to chat with him for a while, it was very cool and he is very simple. He took some pictures with me.

There were two people who were really my favorite of this weekend, it is Katelyn Nacon, who is simply the most warm person I met, we talked about her character and then we took several pictures together. Then it was the turn of Ross Marquand, THE guest of the weekend for me, he has a great sense of humor, does not take himself seriously and is very close to his fans, we talked about the convention that was held in France in 2016, we talked about Paris, about the party last night. A very nice conversation, I had the impression of talking with a friend, then he took a ton of photos with my phone. I loved meeting with him. He was the last actor I met at the convention.

I had the opportunity to see Pollyanna McIntosh, Michael Cudlitz, Cooper Andrews, Khary Payton, Greg Nicotero, Henry Ian Cusick, Eliza Taylor, Sachin Sahel, Ron Perlman, Tommy Flanagan, Ryan Hurst, Austin Nichols.

In general, I found that it was a good organization, having a VIP Pass was beneficial for me because it allowed me to meet many guests and not to wait a lot, a huge positive point is the immediate printing of photos after taking them. I think the negative point is the number of participants, sometimes it can be a little too overwhelming but overall everything was fine, from my point of view.

The convention was great and went way too fast. I already feel the urge to return but it will not be possible at the moment.

Monday 03/12 :

The day of returning home! My train is unfortunately at 6:30pm so the day was very long... I left the hotel at 10:30am and I had to keep myself busy until the time of departure, I had chosen a late hour to leave because I planned to walk around in London before leaving but I unfortunately could not do anything because of the weather, it was raining a lot, so I stayed at the station, I went to see the famous Harry Potter attraction at the train station, I tried to spend time as I could. A long day, but sad to leave London. I arrived at 10pm in Paris.

What was also perfect was to be able to see and meet several friends and people that I'm following on twitter or that I met in conventions in France: laughs, conversations, good times spent. A convention is not only meeting the actors of your favorite show, but also meeting and seeing people with whom you share the same passion every day.
